Acceptable Use Policy

1 · Why this exists

Most of what follows is not our invention. It is inherited from Reddit's data policies, which bind us as an API partner and therefore bind what we can let you do. Violating any of it terminates the account.

2 · Sensitive monitoring

You may not use Mentionr to monitor sensitive events, groups or organisations — protests, rallies, unions, activist groups and the like. The keyword validator enforces a category blocklist and will refuse the keyword rather than accept it and quietly fail.

3 · Inference and profiling

You may not use the service to infer health, political affiliation, religious belief, sexual orientation, racial or ethnic origin, trade union membership or criminal history. You may not attempt to re-identify or de-anonymise a redditor.

No background checks, vetting, credit or risk analysis, individual profiling, psychographic segmentation or facial recognition. No combining Reddit content with third-party data to build customer datasets or to target advertising.

4 · Posting conduct

No spam, no harassment, and no automated or bulk posting. Every reply you send through Mentionr is one you confirmed yourself, and using the product in a way designed to look otherwise is a breach.

5 · Enforcement

We would rather warn you than close your account, and for most things we will. For the items in sections 2 and 3, we will not — those are the terms under which we hold data access at all.
